We took a ten day driving trip to the eastern side
of the Sierra Nevada, Death Valley and some
parks that could be reached as day trips from
Las Vegas.
We drove from home through Yosemite and over Tioga Pass to Mammoth Lakes in Mono County were we saw fall colors and the town of Bodie.
We drove up into the White Mountains to see the ancient bristlecone forest, and visited Alabama Hills Recreation Area from Bishop.
We visited several mountain lakes in the Eastern Sierra and drove into Nevada, spending the night in Tonopah.
We spent the day in and around Death Valley National Park, driving on Titus Canyon Drive, before heading to Las Vegas.
We took day trips from Las Vegas to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Grand Canyon West in Arizona, visiting Hoover Dam on our return.
We took more day trips from Las Vegas to Valley of Fire State Park as well as Mojave National Preserve before heading home.
